One of the most anticipated bikes ever, this is Yamaha's king of retro - the sublime XSR900GP. This bike is a perfect balance cutting edge tech and appropriate nods to the glorious machines of the 80's/90's in all the right places. What's new compared to the 23 bikes? The big change is the new switchgear and dashboard setup. Derived from the flagship Tracer 9 GT+ the XSR900GP features a whopping full colour TFT screen with all sorts of goodies therein. Selectable themes, Quickshifter indicator, music and app control, cast a satnav directly onto the screen via Garmin motorize app and also get turn by turn directions. You can even look up the weather on this bike! All the usual vehicle info is in there too and you can also use the new ride mode selection with options of Sport, Rain, Street and 2 custom settings. Gone is the fiddly scrolling wheel from the switchgear and now replaced with a brilliant joystick style setup for easy faffage while you ride. In addition to the fantastic new switchgear the XSR GP gets the superb Yamaha gen 3 quickshifter which offers up and downshifts plus downshift on open throttle and upshift on closed throttle. Its also got a much plusher seat than the standard XSR900 (hooray!). 

There's no getting past the jaw dropping looks on this bike and that uber cool colour scheme and fairings points toward YZR and TZR heroes of yesteryear. No two stroke smoke here though, the beating heart of this machine is the tremendous Yamaha CP3 engine. 3 cylinders of howling, crossplane joy that is simply addictive with huge waves of torque and a soundtrack to move your very soul. Buttery smooth fuelling and razor sharp handling are shared with its sister bike the MT-09, the GP goes its own way with a slightly longer swingarm to bring a real feeling of stability. This is the connoisseurs hooligan machine.
